Hey there!
This is a series of self-portraits I created inspired by the works and technique of @giuseppegradella
I intended to highlight the emotions a woman is going through, being mentally, sexually, or physically abused. The stages of submission, pain, courage, and finally, hope.
#ArtAgainstViolence
Another personal project. In the times of war and terror, women become silent witnesses to unspeakable atrocities, they endure pain that's both physical and emotional. You are not alone…
IN SEARCH OF VERMEER. Self portrait
A personal and contemporary reinterpretation of Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring. The image is not about replication but more about transformation and bringing my own identity into the frame.
The shadows and gentle highlight on the skin evoke a sense of stillness and fragility, but that fragility is not weakness. It’s a kind of strength that comes from presence, from being seen as you are.
The bare shoulder, direct gaze, the tattoo, and the heavy, knotted fabric speak to dualities: softness and boldness, tradition and modernity, delicacy and resistance. The pearl earring is a deliberate echo—linking the work to a shared history of femininity in art—but in this context, it becomes part of something more self-possessed and grounded.
Vulnerability becomes powerful when it is unhidden—when it is chosen. In that gaze, I wanted to reflect both the tender complexity of femininity and the quiet strength of being seen.
